Community Store Volunteer – The A World UK

The A World UK CIC

Are you looking to give back to your local community, meet new people or gain valuable retail experience? We'd love to welcome you to our team!

The A World UK is a non-profit organisation supporting the autistic community across England and Wales through autism-friendly events, funded family holidays and community initiatives.

Our community stores play a vital role in funding this support, and we're looking for friendly, enthusiastic volunteers to join our teams.

What will you be doing?

As a Community Store Volunteer, you'll help with the day-to-day running of our store. Tasks may include:

- Sorting through donated items and preparing stock for sale

- Replenishing stock and organising displays on the shop floor

- Greeting customers and providing friendly assistance

- Helping with general store operations

- Keeping the store clean, tidy and welcoming

No experience? No problem!

You don't need any previous retail experience or formal qualifications. Our friendly team will provide full training, guidance and support throughout your volunteering journey.

Whether you're looking to build confidence, develop new skills, gain work experience or simply give something back to your community, we'd love to hear from you.

By volunteering with The A World UK, you'll become a valued member of our team while helping us continue making a difference to autistic people and their families.

Every hour you can give makes a difference!

What skills do I need?

No formal qualifications or previous retail experience are required for this role, as full training and support will be provided.

We are simply looking for volunteers who are:

- Friendly, approachable and willing to help

- Able to communicate with customers and other members of the team

- Reliable and able to follow basic instructions

- Comfortable working as part of a team

- Willing to get involved with a variety of everyday store tasks

- Able to use their initiative and common sense when needed
