Parish Archivist

Billington and Langho Parish Council

Billington and Langho Parish Council is seeking  volunteers.   We are looking for those with an interest in history. We have some old documents that need scanning and uploading to our online storage system. This will be archive work; we need to preserve these documents  as a historical record. It is part of the Parish Council’s mission to preserve and share  the social history of our area. By digitising this history,  we are preserving social history and making it accessible.

These documents go back to 1895 and are minutes, poster and financial records of the parish.

I can deliver the work  to you  and can be completed in your own time. Volunteers will  also be given access to the online storage system to upload them.

Please note that the binders are in  a dusty and fragile condition, care would needed to ensure the preservation of these records.
