Unit Management Team Trustee

Accrington Sea Cadets needs volunteers with practical business experience to help with the management of the unit. Our Unit Management Team has lots of roles to match your profession or life experience skills, such as helping manage finances and budgets, fundraising for the unit, organising events, writing press releases for local media and building corporate relationships with local businesses.

We would like to welcome people who would become an important part of our family through;

– Participate in meaningful discussions at monthly committee meetings with your expertise, skills, knowledge, and experience

– Ask appropriate questions, challenge and support

– Make difficult decisions when required

– Be an ambassador and an advocate at all levels for Accrington Sea Cadets.

– Maximise your networks and identify opportunities that will benefit Accrington Sea Cadets. Your Legal Responsibilities

– Ensure that the charity is well run, solvent and delivers its charitable outcomes.

– Ensure funds are not placed at undue risk or misused.

– Ensure the charity complies with regulation and law.

– Act with integrity and avoid conflicts of interest.

– Commit to the improvement of governance and the governing skills of the Board.  

What skills do I need?

This is an opportunity to bring your knowledge and expertise to our management committee, to contribute to the direction and management of the Accrington Sea Cadet unit. We are looking for trustees with expertise in areas such as PR, fundraising, marketing, finance, management and law, although this is not vital and previous experience of being a trustee is welcome but not a necessity.

Details

As the charity delivers it’s services across the whole of the Hyndburn area, our unit premises are based in Oswaldtwistle, we welcome applications from any appropriate location. Trustees are required to attend monthly meetings, which are held on a Monday evening once every month for approx. two hours. We also encourage the unit committee to help and attend unit events when and where they can.
