Citizens Advice East Lancashire

What will you do?

  • Complete an introduction to Citizens Advice and training for your role.
  • Explore issues with clients to be able to provide them with options to help them solve their problems.
  • Give information, guidance and support to clients or signpost/ refer to other services.
  • Write a summary of the clients' problems and what action you've taken.
  • Look out for problems that are common, or are unfair, and record information to support Citizens Advice research and campaigns work.

What skills do I need?

You don't need specific qualifications or skills but you'll need to:

  • Be friendly, approachable and patient.
  • Be no-judgemental and respect views, values and cultures that are different to your own.
  • Have good communication skills.
  • Confident with using IT
  • Be able to understand information and explain it to others.
  • Work within Citizens Advice key principles and policies, including equity, diversity and inclusion, confidentiality and data protection.
  • Be willing to undertake training in your role.
